One of These Things is Not Like the Other: The Entrepreneurial Mind
Posted by Tisha Tolar on May 18, 2009
Silicon Valley Blogger over at The Digerati Life, has posted an AMAZING post on the mind of the entrepreneur. This is one of my most favorite topics – one that endlessly fascinates me.
I have always realized I do not think like many of the people I know, even in childhood. It used to bother me when I was young but as I have aged (36 here I come…), I treasure my mind and it’s functionality more than ever. I love being entrepreneurially-minded. I think it is part of the reason I am the eternal optimist. My glass is always half full and I always work to make sure other people’s glasses are overflowing when I can. My thought process isn’t forced. It is indeed what comes naturally to me. I have learned to fully trust my gut-instincts. Rarely – if ever- do they fail me.
There is nothing that excites me more than to see an up and comer go for it. Case in point, Trisha (fellow Empowering Mom Blogger) has really settled into the entrepreneurial life, though she came into it kicking and screaming most of the way. She said to me on Friday that she now feels completely sure she could never go back to working for someone else. Reflect back to this oldie-but-goodie before Trisha made the jump and hopefully she will honor us with a “Where I Am Now” post this week. (Hey – she’s been busy working for herself!)
At any rate, I hope you will head on over to SVB’s blog and read the post about how entrepreneurial minds work. It is at the least a reaffirmation that I am on to something and following it through is my destiny. Like Trish, I couldn’t imagine EVER having to set the alarm to get up for work again. Granted, I am busier now than ever before but I wouldn’t change a thing. You don’t have to when you are doing what you love so much.
Here’s to a productive Monday to all of you!
