The 2009 Entertainment Book Giveaway & Review
Posted by Debbie Dragon on February 6, 2009
Two days ago I received an Albany Area copy of the 2009 Entertainment Book. I was contacted by the publishers awhile ago and agreed to review the copy on a few sites I write for in exchange for getting copies to giveaway. One lucky EmpoweringMomBlog.com reader will receive a copy of the 2009 Entertainment Book for their local area, keep reading to find out how…
About the Book:
Just about everyone is familiar with these fat books of coupons – after all, they’ve been around since 1960-something or other! Church groups, schools and sports teams often use them for fundraisers, and they can also be purchased from a number of retailers or online. For the next 21 days (until Feb 28th) you can get a 2009 Entertainment Book for 35% off the cover price and free shipping.
- Discounts for Local Restaurants
- Discounts for Casual and Family Dining Establishments
- Fast Food & Carryout
- Entertainment & Sports
- Travel & Hotels
- Retail & Services
My local copy came with 4 coupons for $5 off a purchase of $50 or more at Hannaford (groceries). I was a little disappointed to discover that the first coupon was only valid until December 31, 2008 – but I know I will make good of the remaining 3 coupons for Hannaford groceries ($15 total).
There are a number of discount movie tickets for Regal Movie Theaters (used to be Hoyts), to purchase tickets at $6.50 each at the box office (up to 2 people can get the discount per coupon) as well as free admission on your birthday and free popcorn.
While most people seem to think of the Entertainment book in terms of restaurant discounts (2 for 1 specials), there really is a ton more in the book. Barnes and Noble, Borders, Fashion Bug, Dicks, Hickory Farms, Harry & David, Omaha Steaks, PetSmart, Walgreens, $125 off at Pearle Vision.
There’s also great savings for travel – if you have any plans for taking trips this year, you could benefit from reduced hotel stays and rental cars. If you register your Entertainment Book membership card online, you can use the card to book a full vacation through their travel division and save 5% off any airfare worldwide for up to 6 passengers, or 10% off a dream trip or weekend getaway.
How to Win Your Copy:
Heard enough? You can win a copy from EmpoweringMomBlog.com by leaving us a comment. In the comment, tell us which coupons you’re most looking forward to using, OR maybe something you WILL do that you wouldn’t have done without a coupon or discount. Make sure you give us a way to contact you by entering your email address.
One winner will be chosen at random and notified on Feb 22nd, tell your friends!

I would love an entertainment coupon book. As a writer, I am most looking forward to the coupons for Borders and Barnes and Noble- and with any luck I’ll find some for Starbucks or Caribou Coffee to go right along with them!!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Great book for people on fixed incomes and families with children especially in today’s economy. Instead of saying No We Can’t
with sad smiles, the savings from the coupons in the entertainment book would changed to YES We can
with a smile.

One of the ways I’m watching my budget during these lean times is by not going out to eat as much. I’d use the coupons to treat my girlfriend to dinner out somewhere.

I would love to win this book for one reason. I am a stay at home mom to 3 toddlers. I could use the coupons for Starbucks, Diapers, Movie days, Mommy only days, food, etc. It would come in handy a whole lot for us. We are a family of 5 on a budget so it would be nice to be able to buy things for the kids besides the nesseccities:) Thank you for reading and I hope I win. God luck to the other people who commented before me and after me.:)
