TGIF – Or Is It?
Posted by Tisha Tolar on October 17, 2008
As a sole business owner, it’s up to me to make the money. In order to make the money for the company, I
have to do all the work myself. There are no secretaries, file clerks, or administrative assistants to help me through my day. In fact, there are – and they are all ME! Another day of working late. My daughter went to bed a little while ago and from the time she got home from school until bed – pretty much all she heard from me was “SSSShhhhh….can you please keep it down?”
She’s used to it more now than in the beginning but it’s taken a lot of work – on top of all the other work to be done each day. While it may seem like a wondrous thing to work for yourself – and it is – but before you commit to starting up at home, consider the amount of time you have got to invest just to stay afloat. Is it worth it? Sure! Is it easy? NO!
For me – there is no such thing as a weekend anymore. If the family has nothing planned then it will most likely be a work day for me. I don’t mind most of the time but burn out can happen FAST! I had a great writing afternoon today. I was definately in the zone and finished more this evening than I probably have all week. Those are the best days when not only are you productive – but you also feel productive. I can go to sleep tonight and think about relaxing things instead of the long ass list of stuff I have to do tomorrow.
This weekend will probably be a working one for me. But for now – it is Friday and I am finally going to relax now that it is almost 10pm. So TGIF to all of you – at least try to enjoy what’s left of it. I know I will! Damn skippy!!
Peace out~
PS – also – since Debbie has shamed me by posting the first video, I too hope to be bringing you some funny – yet meaningful – tips to empower you (or at least make you laugh a little!) Now go read www.genxthenovel.com. Go on – you know you want to.
