Bright-Eyed and Bushy Tailed and it’s Only Monday Morning
Posted by Tisha Tolar on October 20, 2008
Good morning! It is cold and there is the first thick frost of the season on the ground. Hard to beleive winter
is on the doorstep when it seemed like summer was just starting. I remember back before school let out, I was so worried that I would not be able to be a full time mom and handle my work load. The amazing thing was once things were set into motion, I didn’t have many problems as I had anticipated. Things went rather smoothly and my daughter, for the most part, was fully cooperative. I found that working first thing in the morning while she chilled out to her shows was perfect for both of us and then we would spend the afternoons swimming or just hanging out. It was quite an ideal time.
Now that I have all this “extra time” It actually took until just recently for me to get back into full time work mode. It was nice having the house to myself again but after a busy summer I just wanted to send her off on the bus and sit in the porch swing, reading a good novel, or lying on the couch watching movies. But alas, I didn’t and I forced myself to soilder on. Staying motivated when working for yourself is not an easy task but it is necessary. For every day you are not looking to get more work, another day goes by without pay. While you may not notice from day to day but at the end of the month, when the pay isn’t coming in, you will certainly feel the pinch.
This is especially true now that the price of everything has been skyrocketing seemingly overnight. It is nice to rely on the husband’s paycheck every two weeks but it only make me more motivated and committed to make more money and implement more ideas. I lost one of my biggest sources of income just after the summer ended and it really threw a monkey wrench in my plans. I know that people typically learn a lesson from a real life example so if I can be that example – listen to me now – NEVER STOP MOVING FORWARD. There will be bumps in the road – craters even – but it really is worth it.
I hope your Monday is just as good as a Friday. You have the whole week ahead of you to try something new, to make someone smile, and to live out one more of your dreams. If you need a little pick me up today, go visit www.genxthenovel.com. This is one of my dreams that has come true with persistence. Gen X is my first completed novel and I’ve decided to put it online to share with others. It’s free and maybe can be a little source of inspiration for you!
